Member Bio

Sam Temple received his doctorate in history from the University of Michigan in 2010 and is currently a lecturer in the Expository Writing program at the University of Oklahoma. Trained in French and environmental history, he is particularly interested in themes of state-building, disaster culture, the politics of natural resources, urban planning, and environmental risk. He has published articles in French Historical Studies and Environment and History and is currently working on a book manuscript, tentatively entitled Regulating Nature: State-making and Environmental Risk in Modern France.
