Society member Alan MacEachern, professor of history at the University of Western Ontario, has been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He is the founding director of NiCHE: Network in Canadian History & Environment and authored and co-authored multiple books, among them The Summer Trade: A History of Tourism on Prince Edward Island (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2022) and The Miramichi Fire: A History (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2020). Alan MachEachern came to the Rachel Carson Center as a visiting scholar in 2011 and returned as a Carson fellow in 2016.
